Situation
U.S. Bancorp is a diversified financial services company with headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota and serves 10 million customers in 24 states – including a million internet banking customers. With $165 billion in assets, U.S. Bancorp is the 8th largest financial services holding company in the United States.
Additionally, U.S. Bank is the world's largest issuer of commercial cards. With over half a million cards and more than $7 billion in annual sales, the breadth and depth of U.S. Bank's experience is unrivalled.
Lightoffice technology was engaged by U.S. Bancorp’s Corporate Payment Services division to rapidly develop a set of XML standards related to credit card clearing. These new standards would enable U.S. Bank to work more effectively with its partners.
Strategy
Utilize existing flat file EDI documents to develop a new, XML-compliant, file format for credit card clearing.
Solution
We designed, built and documented a set of U.S. Bank-specific XML standards. In addition, we were able to complete these tasks in 1/4 the amount of time that U.S. Bank had estimated it would take.
Results
This solution enabled the largest issuer of corporate credit cards in the nation to get up and running with XML technology more quickly and more cost-effectively than they would have been able to otherwise.
